A TRUE STORY BROUGHT TO YOU FROM PARADISE BEAUTY STORE, BRIDGETOWN.

I was browsing natural hair products in town this week when I turned down a particular isle and saw two extremely tall, extremely beautiful dark skinned young woman. These two girls were absolutely stunning. I could not help staring at them. They were speaking to each other in a language I did not recognize but from their body language I deduced they were arguing about which product to buy.

After much back and forth they settled on one particular product and proceeded to pick up at least 10 of the jars and head to the cashier. Out of pure nosiness I walked over to the shelf to see what the product was. I soon realised all the items on that particular shelf were skin bleaching products.

I looked over at the two girls who could easily be catwalk models and my heart grew heavy. 

I wondered how two young women as beautiful as they were could not see beauty in themselves.

That was earlier in the week. By now those two formerly dark skinned beauties could now look like Vybes kartel... Damn Shame! 

I remember when bleaching first started in the early eighties and after it died out I thought I would NEVER EVER see that trend again. But here we are in big 2017 back doing that shite again.

Will be ever love ourselves exactly as we were made?
